People just don't give a shit about live music anymore and it's really sad. I'm still pretty young but I've been going to shows for about ten years now. But in that time period I've seen attendance decline so much. I feel like a lot of it's due to streaming, the internet, oversaturation of the markets, the accessibility of music, etc. Anyone can go look up a live performance of a band on YouTube and be like, "Yeah that was pretty cool," and never actually go watch that band and feel the energy that a live show packs. That's why you see so many bands that used to play huge concert halls doing all these small club tours that barely sell out and "10 Year Tours" of their successful records. That nostalgia is often times the only thing that gets people in the door.
